| Bio: | Riku—or it would be better corrected as the Riku Replica—has lead an existence that really isn’t much of an ‘existence’ to begin with, particularly to those in The Organization. Created to be used as a tool, a distraction, a sacrifice, the Replica had been ordered to chase after Sora and confuse the living daylights out of him, to fight and destroy the Real Riku—or to be better put, make The Organization’s job a heck of a lot easier.
But like all corrupt organizations were doomed to fail, this one was not so different; much of the members were too busy squabbling with one another to really pay much attention to the lone puppet-boy loitering in the back of the room, or wandering the halls aimlessly, taunting Sora or chasing after Real Thing, or watching Namine color her pretty pictures. And although he’s come to realize that he is in fact a mere replica, he’s still very much emotionally immature—capable of walking around with a large ego and air of confidence. He’s also extremely self conscious of himself, no doubt due to the fact that he’ll always and forever be burdened by the thought of being someone else’s shadow.
Because of the false memories implanted in his ‘heart’ by Namine, he has a hard time relating to things on a personal level, confused by these feelings that aren’t his, and that belong to someone else. He isn’t sure if the color blue, or yellow are really his favorite colors, or if the sound of the ocean has the soothing effect only because it did with the Real Riku. He’s very frustrated on the inside, and is on the borderline of honestly hating himself for it. The Replica abhors the Real Thing, so wouldn’t that mean he hates himself as well?
Even so, there are some good qualities hidden underneath that haggard and rough exterior. As often as he is completely forgotten, the Replica still has some redeeming traits—if, well, one chooses to see them as so. Never the less, as small as the role he has, he’s still managed to grow into his own person, whether he realized it himself or not. In the end, when it really counted, the Replica showed that he really wasn’t the enemy The Organization made him play the role of. And, in a true act of chivalry, he left Namine in the secure hands of Sora and went off to find himself, perhaps in more ways than one, and face his “fate”.
